Palmersville Baptist Church

Wednesday, June 4, Hugh and Carol led our congregational singing with “When the Morning Comes.” It was good to have them back with us. They visited with family in Georgia. We had a number of praise reports. Psalm 37:5 was read, and then our monthly business meeting was conducted. On this Lord’s day, we sang “I Will Sing the Wondrous Story.” Bro. Bob read from today’s lesson, “Let Wisdom Govern Your Work,” Proverbs 6:1-5. The life question of the day was, “How can I have a better work life?” Biblical wisdom teaches God’s people to be wary of foolish entanglements, to work diligently and to avoid dealing wickedly with others. “Happy Birthday” was sung today to Garrison Smith and Judy Pickler. Others celebrating this week are Tyler Poole, Gerald Harris, and happy anniversary to Ted and Renita Cantrell. Later, our congregation sang “‘Tis So Sweet to Trust in Jesus,” “Rescue the Perishing,” and “The Solid Rock.” Our choir special was, “I Feel Like Traveling On.” Scripture reading today was from Jeremiah 33:1-3; Proverbs 3:5-6; and Haggai 1:5-8. It was good to have Terry Morgan, Dan and Diane Walters back with us. We express sympathy to those that have lost loved ones this week. Tonight, we were glad to have Joe and Brenda Means visiting with us. Bro. Hugh let us pick hymns tonight. Hymns chosen were “Leaning on the Everlasting Arms,” “Rock of Ages,” “It Is Well With My Soul,” and “Because He Lives.” Joe David and Sam sang “What a Savior” and did a great job. We then read Psalm 23 in unison. Bro. Kieth explained each verse. He then read Psalm 100. Ms. Carol played “Without Him.” Closing prayer was led by Kerry Harris. Next Sunday will be Father’s day. There will be no evening service. We hope that each dad has a great day!
