First State Bank recently added Josh McFarland as branch manager of the South Fulton office at 605 Broadway.
“I have full confidence that Josh will be a strong asset to the South Fulton office,” said Sam Lewallen, community bank president, of Martin.
“Being a native of South Fulton, Josh will naturally have an advantage and enhance the bank’s ability to be a community partner. He knows the area and wants to see it grow to its potential. I truly believe his banking knowledge, ability and understanding of the special needs of the area and our customers will enhance First State’s ability to serve the community. He recognizes that as our bank grows, so does the community.”
McFarland is a graduate of South Fulton High School and the University of Tennessee at Martin, where he majored in economics and finance. He has five years in banking, including both deposit and loan experience.
He is involved in the community through his church and the Rotary Club.
McFarland is married and has a 15-month-old son.
“I am happy about the chance to grow with First State,” McFarland said. “I feel like the opportunities with this corporation are endless. I also respect the priority that First State puts on customers, which makes this company so unique. The philosophy of ‘Striving to Exceed Expectations’ not only shows a commitment to our customers, but to everything we do.”
First State Bank has 28 full-service banking locations in 24 communities throughout West and Middle Tennessee.
