Additional indictments made public

Several additional indictments handed down last week by the Obion County grand jury have been made public following arraignments Monday in Circuit Court.
The June term of the grand jury convened last week to hear evidence of allegations of criminal activity to determine if charges should be levied by indictment through Circuit Court. Many of the cases had been waived from a lower court or bound over to the grand jury, while others were presented directly to the panel for consideration.
Many drug-related cases were among the indictments handed down last week.
A number of the indictments released last week by Obion County Circuit Court Clerk Harry Johnson’s office remained sealed, or secret, pending the arrests of the suspects indicted. Their names were not disclosed on the list published in Friday’s edition of The Messenger but have since been made public in the aftermath of Monday’s arraignments.
