The Messenger. 06.09.08 Walter Isbell, 89, of Hickman, Ky., died 10:30 a.m. June 5, 2008, at Clinton-Hickman County ICF Nursing Home in Clinton, Ky. Services will be 10:45 a.m. Tuesday at Pleasant Hill Missionary Baptist Church in Hickman, with the Rev. James Roberson officiating. Burial will follow in Hickman City Cemetery. Friends may call at the church from 10 a.m. until the hour of services Tuesday. Strong Funeral Home in Hickman is in charge of arrangements. He was born Feb. 11, 1919, in Hickman, son of the late Ethan and Lula (Yarbro) Isbell, and was a Baptist. Survivors include two sons, Willie Isbell and Clifford Isbell, both of Hickman; six daughters, Lula B. Weaver of Cleveland, Ohio, Susan Swift of Hickman, Jean Epps of San Diego and Charlen Rainey, Gladys Sherood and Helen Stewart, all of Elgin, Ill.; and 79 grandchildren, 36 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Lucille Isbell, and three brothers and three sisters.
