3 charged by police
The Messenger. 06.04.08 Three people were arrested on disorderly conduct charges following a disturbance late Monday night in the Parkview Manor Apartments area on South Sunswept Drive in Union City. The incident apparently began shortly after 11 p.m. when Union City police were initially dispatched to a disturbance at the apartment complex. A woman claimed her 16-year-old daughter had been assaulted by another person, with this alleged altercation apparently causing a crowd of people to start arguing and become irate with police on the scene, according to a Union City Police Department report. As the incident escalated, those arrested shortly before midnight include Tamara Dawn Fuller, 27, of 1814 High School Drive, Apt. 1, Union City, on a charge of disorderly conduct; Jermaine Demon Fuller, 32, of 717 South Sunswept Drive, Apt. 1, Union City, on charges of disorderly conduct and resisting a stop, halt, frisk or search; and Audrey Denise Perry, 50, of 1903 East Vine St., Union City, on charges of disorderly conduct and resisting arrest, according to police reports. Police reported that an officer observed the large crowd of people gathered on the apartment complex lot and began giving commands for the crowd to disperse. Tamara Fuller allegedly was yelling and “acting in a violent and threatening manner” while being held back by two other people, resulting in her arrest, according to reports. As the officer was attempting to detain Tamara Fuller, Jermaine Fuller appeared and allegedly began telling police they had the wrong person in custody. The officer advised him to back up and indicated he would speak to him later, but Jermaine Fuller allegedly began to get irate and yelled profanity at the officer, who reported that at the time he was the only officer in the crowd of about 60 to 75 people. Jermaine Fuller allegedly began to walk away as other officers arrived on the scene and attempted to stop him. He reportedly used profanity toward police and approached an officer “in an aggressive manner.” He was tasered by police, at which point several people in the crowd became upset and began charging toward police, according to the report. While police were attempting to arrest Jermaine Fuller, Ms. Perry, whom police identified as Jermaine Fuller’s mother, allegedly began yelling and approaching police, who reported that they twice advised her to back up. She allegedly ignored their commands and continued to approach police “in a threatening manner.” When police advised she was under arrest, she reportedly turned and ran. She was caught as she entered the apartment complex and allegedly continued to resist and pull away, resulting in her also being tasered by police, according to the reports.
