The Messenger. 06.02.08 Norma Jean Miles, 60, of Union City died 10 p.m. June 1, 2008, at her home. Services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at Dilday Funeral Home in Union City, with the Rev. Greg Wells officiating. Burial will follow in East View Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home 5-8 p.m. Tuesday. Pallbearers will be William Vickers, Larry Doxey, James Gammons, Clyde Brock Miles, Kirk Carden, Brock Griffin and Bob Mickens. She was born June 4, 1947, in Union City, daughter of Margaret (Hines) Cooper of Springville and the late Tom Rye Cooper. She was married to Philip Miles Jan. 1, 1972. He survives. She was a self-employed beautician who had retired after 30 years and she attended Midway Baptist Church near Hickman, Ky. She is also survived by her son, Allen Cavender of Jackson; three stepdaughters, Tanya Long of Troy and Ginger Dotson and Deia Barnes, both of Danville, Va.; her sister, Jo Ann McDaniel of Greenville, S.C.; three grandchildren, Ashton Cavender of Jackson and Tyler Cavender and Shelby Cavender, both of Manchester; six step-grandchildren; two step-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
