fagen CHECK PRESENTATION — A recent accident with an animal at the ethanol plant near Obion lead to a donation by team members of Fagen Inc. Construction to build an animal kennel in Rives. Animal control officer Chandra L. Davis (front row, third from left) said she was called to the construction site by the Obion County Sheriff’s Department to retrieve a small beagle mix dog who had ended up in the middle of the construction site. The dog was injured and taken to the veterinarian, but unfortunately could not be saved. During the time Mrs. Davis had the dog, workers on the site put together a donation fund to help save the dog, who had been nicknamed “Lucky.” Fagen employees decided to donate the $1,026 they had collected to fund an animal kennel for dogs in Rives. Project manager Rob Schladetzky spoke during the recent check donation, which was attended by more than 200 people, including Beverly Wheeler of the Kenn Tenn Humane Society, Rives Mayor Hershal Damons and Rives alderman Jay Moore. Mrs. Davis said she plans for the shelter to be used to house stray animals from Rives, Woodland Mills and Hornbeak.
