The Messenger. 05.29.08 Completed arrangements are being announced for Marvin “Markey” Hayes Jr., 60, of Samburg, who died May 28, 2008, at Jackson-Madison Coun-ty General Hospital. Services will be 1 p.m. Friday at White-Ranson Funeral Home, with the Revs. Ernest Mayo and Jerry Leggett officiating. Burial will follow in Hornbeak’s Antioch Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home 4-8 p.m. today. His nephews and the spouses of his nieces will serve as pallbearers. They include Russ Dyer, Ryan Dyer, Ron Dyer, Michael Hayes, Will Marvin Hayes, Drew Hayes, Cody Richmond and Brian Smith. His nieces will be honorary pallbearers. They include Jenny (White) Smith, Jonanne White and Rachel Richmond. He was born Sept. 11, 1947, in Dyersburg, son of Virginia Dare (Gammons) Hayes of Samburg and the late Marvin Hayes Sr. He had retired from family business interests that included farming, motel operation and a wholesale fish company in Samburg. He attended Samburg Baptist Church. Survivors also include two sisters and brothers-in-law, Jill and Tony White of Tiptonville and Jan and Randy Dyer of Samburg; his brother and sister-in-law, Mike and Kathy Hayes of Samburg; and nine nieces and nephews.
