Hometown Walk of Hope
The Messenger. 05.29.08 Help the Baptist Memorial Hospital-Union City team “Clean Up Cancer” one car at a time at a car wash Saturday from 8 a.m.-noon at the hospital. Donations will be appreciated and will go to the Obion County Cancer Agency’s Hometown Walk of Hope. The team is requesting a minimum of $5. ——— Bennett’s Inc. in downtown Union City will host a Walk of Hope fish fry Friday, with serving to take place 4-6 p.m. Because of the popularity of the event, it has been moved to Kiwanis Park in downtown Union City. Tickets are $5 and are on sale at Bennett’s and will be available at the fish fry. Jim Cawley will be a special guest at the event. All proceeds will go to Hometown Walk of Hope. ——— The Ladies Choice Hometown Walk of Hope team from Calvary Baptist Church in Union City will host a gigantic 25-party yard sale Friday from 7 a.m.-5 p.m. and Saturday from 7 a.m.-1 p.m. at the Atmos Energy building on South First Street. The team will also be selling sausage and biscuits for breakfast and hamburgers and hotdogs for lunch and will also have tempting sweet treats for sale.
