Dresden Duplicate Club News

Dresden Duplicate Bridge Club assembled at 6 p.m. Wednesday, May 13, at the American Legion Post, with 14 players in attendance. We are pleased to announce the joining of a new player to our group. We were delighted to have Lynda Shannon of Dresden join us. Linda brought with her rosemary chicken grilled, and then put in her bullet and pulverized and made the best chicken salad. We also had fresh sliced strawberries and strawberry cake and English cheese ball, crab dip and toast points with lobster pâté. We ate and played bridge for three hours.
Winning first place were Sarah Pentecost and Alma Ford; second, Becky Bennett and Pat Page; and third, Linda Shannon and Kathy Wilson.
Our Wednesday group met May 14, with 14 members present. We all had such a wonderful time. Get a group together and they can always entertain each other (even while playing cards).
We had a special treat today — Symphony brownies and corn salsa with chip scoops. We also enjoyed cream cheese covered with raspberry chipotle sauce. Symphony bars are made the same as other chocolate brownies but are made with Symphony chocolate candy bars. They are a treat for your taste buds (in other words, delicious).
Winners were first Jackye Hohman, Carol Ehlers; second and third, Lois Harbour, Bess Williams, Roberta Meyer, Carolyn Rogers, Tom Beard and Sarah Pentecost.
Thought for the week: We may not have it all together, but together we have it all.
Did you all know only 50 percent of advertising works; the dilemma is that you never know which.
In the meantime, let’s play bridge.wcp 5-20-08
