Don Malone

Don Malone, 78, of Martin, died Wednesday, May 14, 2008, at Vanderbilt Hospital in Nashville.
Services were held 11 a.m. Saturday at Shepherd’s Field Church with Bro. Wayne Perkins, Dr. Matthew Wohlfarth and Bro. Charles Brian officiating. Burial was in East Side Cemetery. Murphy Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Family members served as pallbearers.
Malone was born Nov. 17, 1929, in Denver, Colo., son of the late Burton Floyd and Wilma Okla Durham Malone. He was a retired pastor of Thompson Creek Baptist Church, after more than 35 years of service. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Union City and an elected member of the Weakley County Commission.
Survivors include his wife, Maria Izabel Malone of Martin; one son, Daniel Malone of Nashville; two daughters, Rebecca Melo and Lisa Dunn, both of Nashville; six grandchildren, Andrew Melo, Zachary Melo, Campbell Dunn, Aaron Malone, Alex Malone and Abi Malone.
