UCS STUDENTS PLACE — Unity Christian School in Martin recently participated in the Tennessee Association of Non-Public Academic Schools’ end-of-the-year competitions in Nashville. The school brought home a certificate of promotion as it earned three out of four stars in the Excellence Incentive Program. Students who earned honors included (from left, front) Annie Mae Jones, who received an honorable mention in Division Two’s two-dimensional art competition; Bryson Betz, who took runner-up in the senior spelling bee; Connor Betz, who finally seized runner-up in the junior spelling bee after close to 20 rounds of spelling competition; (back) Angela Hendricks, who earned second place in Division Four’s color photography competition; Kaylee Burton, who wrote a short story and was rewarded with second place in Division One writing competition; and Ashley Mitchell, who won first place in Division One vocal competition. Miss Mitchell will be singing again Friday at 7 p.m. at the graduation ceremony at Unity Christian School, located at 520 McComb St. in Martin. The public is invited to attend.
