Police effort set

Law enforcement agencies from Obion County, the Tennessee Highway Patrol and others in West Tennessee will join forces with the Kentucky State Police to conduct sobriety checkpoints May 30 from 7 p.m. to midnight at the intersection of Highway 21 and Highway 51 in Obion County.
The KSP will be conducting simultaneous sobriety checkpoints in adjoining areas.
This statewide enforcement effort is known as Hands Across the Border, according to the Union City Police Department, which is among the agencies involved.
