Volunteers are needed to meet at Faith Lutheran Church on East Reelfoot Avenue Saturday at 10 a.m. to help take down the Obion County Right to Life’s display of the “Cemetery of Innocence” and set it up again at Reelfoot Baptist Church on Old Lake Road. Anyone interested in standing up for life is encouraged to come and take part, a spokesman said, adding that participants are encouraged to bring three- to four-pound hammers to assist in the work.
“Please contact the Obion County chapter at P.O. Box 55, Union City, TN 38281 if you would like to host our display cemetery and you have not been contacted by a representative of our chapter,” a spokesman said.
The Obion County Right to Life meeting will be Tuesday at 7 p.m. at the Obion County Museum on Edwards Street in Union City. The group meets the fourth Tuesday of each month, unless a holiday requires rescheduling.
Everyone is invited to attend and “become involved in a wise and worthy cause,” a spokesman said.
It is time for membership renewal for the new year, the spokesman added. Anyone who has not received a notice is asked to send the annual membership fee of $25 to the organization’s post office box address.
The spokesman also asked that residents who have moved send the new address to the group so that mailing addresses can be updated.
“Our organization is non-profit and we have a tax deductible education fund set up at our state office for our county. Please consider this cause throughout the year,” the spokesman said.
