Jon Mychal Heatherly, son of Brian and Tracye Heatherly of Athens, former residents of Union City, will receive his diploma as a 2008 High Honors graduate of McMinn County High School in Athens this month.
He is the grandson of Perry and Barbara Heatherly of Woodland Mills, Pam and Donnie Hudson of Arlington, Diane Terry of Union City and Gary and Kaylene Holt of South Fulton and the brother of Dakota Heatherly and Katie Heatherly, both of Athens. He is a former local student, having attended Union City schools from kindergarten through eighth grade.
Jon Mychal is one of 360 members of the Class of 2008 and has been a student council representative for two years. He is also a four-year veteran of the school band, having served as section leader for three years, and a three-year member of the McMinn Jazz Society.
He plans to attend Tennessee Wesleyan College in Athens and major in biology, with a minor in music. He received a TWC board of trustees scholarship and a scholarship from the Holston Conference of the United Methodist Church. He has been appointed editor-in-chief of The New Exponent, the student newspaper at TWC.

William Morgan Cruce, son of James and Carla Cruce of Union City, recently graduated from Lambuth University in Jackson with a bachelor of arts degree in philosophy and religion.
Cruce, a graduate of Obion County Central High School, graduated summa cum laude and was a Lambuth Scholar. He was also a member of the Lambuth football team for four years.
He was named to the Dean’s List for the spring semester.

James Bryant Cruce, son of James and Carla Cruce of Union City, was recently named to the Dean’s List at Lambuth University in Jackson for the spring semester.
Cruce, a graduate of Obion County Central High School, is a political science major.
