Shiloh sets ceremony

Lt. Col. Bernard Lindstrom, District Commander of the Nashville Corps of Engineers, will be the speaker Monday at 11 a.m. at Shiloh National Cemetery’s annual Memorial Day observance.
Several other groups and individuals will appear, as well, a spokesman said. An honorary salute will be provided by National Park Service employees and volunteers wearing period uniforms and equipment and utilizing a variety of historic firearms to represent the 232 years of military service the armed forces of the United States have provided since 1776.
Several interpretive activities will be provided beginning Saturday and continuing throughout the afternoon Monday. These will include antique military vehicles. These displays will be open 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.
Those attending are invited to bring lawn chairs and blankets to provide comfortable seating during the ceremonies.
