A Louisville, Ky., man has been charged in connection with alleged inappropriate conduct involving a minor in 2006 at a Martin home.
Joseph “Tojo” Harris Jr., 39, of 3911 Fern Valley Road, Louisville, was arrested Thursday at his home and charged with one count of sexual battery, according to Martin Police Chief David Moore.
Moore said charges were sought against Harris in reference to a complaint filed May 3 at the Martin Police Department. The complaint alleged that Harris sexually assaulted a minor victim while Harris was living in the same home as the victim in Martin in 2006.
The child also disclosed that Harris allegedly had inappropriate contact with the child in a separate incident while residing in Union City in 2005, according to Moore.
Martin police investigators Robby Hatler and Capt. Randal Walker accompanied Louisville investigators to arrest Harris Thursday. He was arraigned Friday in Louisville, where he agreed to waive extradition, and will be transported to the Weakley County Detention Center, Moore said in a press release.
