Veterans’ program slated
The Women Veterans of America, Chapter No. 20, and the Women Veterans Network of the VA Tennessee Valley Healthcare System, will host the 2008 Fort Donelson National Battlefield and National Cemetery’s Memorial Day Ceremony May 26 at 1 p.m.
The ceremony, which is free and open to the public, will be held in the National Cemetery, near the flag pole and the administration building. It will be held rain or shine.
“Please join us as we honor all veterans that have given their last full measure of devotion for this great nation,” a spokesman said.
The keynote speaker will be 1st Sgt. Carleen D. “Chick” Robertson, U.S. Air Force (retired), of Paris. She served in the active duty Air Force from 1950-75 and is very active in numerous Houston County Veterans Service organizations.
