Third Review Club meets
The Third Review Club met recently in the Tennessee Room of First Citizen’s National Bank.
The meeting was called to order by president Mary Ellen Stevens.
Mary Dunavant read articles for two holidays that occur in May, Mother’s Day and Memorial Day. She stated that President Woodrow Wilson declared the first Mother’s Day.
Memorial Day is observed for all the men and women who have given their lives for their country. The first war fought for the United States was the Revolutionary War and a monument for the Unknown Soldier for that war is located in Washington Square in Philadelphia.
Hostesses for the annual spring luncheon were Joyce Stephens and Ann Stone.
The tables were beautifully decorated with spring flowers and each member was presented with a silver picture frame that held the place cards.
Each member brought her favorite salad for the luncheon.
