Layton Rivers Williams, 89, of Hickman, Ky., died 4 a.m. May 13, 2008, at Golden Living Center in Union City.
Services will be 11 a.m. Friday at Strong Funeral Home in Hickman, with the Rev. Henry Callison officiating. Burial will follow in Brownsville Cemetery in that community.
Friends may call at the funeral home 9-11 a.m. Friday.
He was born Sept. 25, 1918, in Hickman, son of the late Elvis and Florence (Harding) Williams. He was a retired teacher in the Fulton County (Ky.) School System and was a Protestant.
Survivors include his daughter, Angela Williams of Alexandria, Va.; his sister, Anna Jean Kuhn of Louisville, Ky.; and his grandson, Layton Rivers Morgan of Denver.
He was also preceded in death by his wife, Lynn (Matheny) Williams; and his brother, Chester Lyonell Williams.
