Miss Shull, Yoes honored at bridal parties
Leah Kathryn Shull of Ridgely and Jake Yoes of Union City were recently honored with several bridal courtesies.
The bride-elect is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Garland Shull of Ridgely. She is the granddaughter of Betty Jo Shull of Ridgely and the late Nard Calvin Shull and Mr. and Mrs. George Darnall-Pakish of Tiptonville.
The groom-elect is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Ronny Yoes of Union City. He is the grandson of Eileen Colwick and the late J.T. Colwick of Parsons and the late James and Jerene Yoes of Greenfield.
The couple will exchange vows at 6:30 p.m. June 7 at Ridgely First United Methodist Church. A reception will follow at Buford Ellington Hall at Reelfoot Lake.
GIFT CARD SHOWER
Miss Shull was honored with a Gift Card Shower by her very special friends at the Whites’ “washout house.” The shower was hosted by Jonanne White of Memphis, Jenny Lynn Smith and Nikki Wray, both of Tiptonville, Chancey Prince of Ridgely and Jamie Tuscan of Union City.
The girls gathered for a day of togetherness, sharing in the joy of Miss Shull’s upcoming wedding plans and just catching up.
The home was beautifully decorated using pink roses as the theme, with the backdrop being the sunshiny day as viewed from the great room overlooking the water.
The hostesses prepared all of their favorites for appetizers, which included Rotel™ dip with chips, strawberry cake, ham and cheese croissants, sausage balls, mini strawberry muffins, strawberries with cream cheese, pigs in a blanket and strawberry punch.
They presented the bride-elect a gift card for choosing something for her new home.
Special guests were Dianne Homra of Ridgely, Melissa Cranford of Ridgely and the bride’s mother.
HIS AND HER BARBECUE
Miss Shull and Yoes were honored with a His and Her Barbecue Shower at the Tiptonville home of Martha and Jackson Hopper and Alex and Sam Hays.
Hosts and hostesses were Mr. and Mrs. Cecil Gooch, Mr. and Mrs. Mike Hamra, Mr. and Mrs. Jeremy Hopper, Martha Hopper, Mr. and Mrs. Terry Hopper, Mr. and Mrs. Jason Stanley and Mandy Norris, all of Tiptonville, and Mr. and Mrs. Ken Hickman and Carole Bargery, all of Dyersburg.
The bridal couple welcomed their guests in the pool area, which was lavishly decorated with pink, yellow and yellow with pink center Gerber daisies, spider mums and lacy fern centerpieces on white draped tables.
The gift table was draped in white with an overlay of pink, yellow and green. The pool area was lit with torches and the hosts and hostesses had fire pits blazing with a warm fire for guests to keep warm on this spring evening.
Appetizers included fried mushrooms with dipping sauce, vegetables and dip, fruit and dip and hot wings. The menu also included barbecue, potato salad, slaw, baked beans and buns. Dessert included chocolate brownies with a choice of white chocolate or dark chocolate topping. The drink station was hosted by Terry Hopper and the bride’s uncle, Cecil Gooch. A variety of selections were offered.
The hosts and hostesses gave the honorees a gift card for purchasing a grill.
The guests were family members and close friends of the honorees.
Out-of-town guests included the groom-elect’s parents; Mr. and Mrs. Ricky Gooch of Gallatin; Joyce Sisco and Mr. and Mrs. Monty Mooney, all of Union City; Richard Pike of Dyersburg; Dr. Jeff Phebus, and Mary Phebus, the bride-elect’s aunt, and Tammie Baggett, all of Cordova; Susie Cooper of Hornbeak; and Laura Leigh Shull, sister of the bride-elect, and her guest, Peter Williams, both of Cleveland, Miss.
