Photo Kiwanis scholarships
COLLEGE FUND — Seniors from Obion County Central and Union City high schools who had been selected Kiwanis Club Students of the Month during their high school careers were honored at Thursday night’s Student of the Year banquet at the Moffatt Centré in Troy. Fourteen of the students received $500 scholarships at the banquet. These were given in memory or in honor of current or former Kiwanis Club members. Among those honored were (from left, front to back) Amanda Paige Trader from OCCHS and Robert Wood, in whose honor a scholarship was given; James Hunter Cash from UCHS and Margaret Moore, another Kiwanian honored with a scholarship given in her name; Denise Nichole Bell from UCHS and Patti Leeke, in whose honor a scholarship was named; Meagan Annette Beasley from OCCHS and Bob Gibson, in whose honor, along with his wife, Virginia, a scholarship was awarded; and Adam Dwight Moon of UCHS and Danielle Morris, in whose honor the Presidential Award scholarship was made.
