Lillian Mamie Hanlon
Lillian Mamie Hanlon, 91, died Saturday, May 3, 2008, in Lansing, Mich.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Palmer, Bush & Jensen Family Funeral Homes, Lansing Chapel. Burial will be at Deepdale Memorial Park.
Mrs. Hanlon was born Aug. 2, 1916, in Greenfield, daughter of the late Roy Charles and Mary Alice Sullivan Foote. She moved to Lansing in 1924 with her family. She attended Lansing schools and Youngstown, Ohio schools, graduating from Lansing Eastern in 1932. Moving back to Youngstown after graduation, she was an early career woman, opening millinery shops in Youngstown, Cleveland, Chicago and Milwaukee, among other cities. Later in life, she worked for Gordon’s Apparel in Lansing.
Survivors include a daughter, Mary Anne (Kenneth) Smith of Lansing, Mich.; three sons Michael (Kathy) Hanlon of Lansing, Patrick Hanlon of Central Lake, Mich., and Sean (Donna) Hanlon of Sandy, Ore.; seven grandchildren and two great-granddaughters.
She was also preceded in death by her husband, Marcus Hanlon; six brothers and three sisters.
