Completed arrangements are being announced for Charles Curtis, 80, of South Fulton. He died 9:38 p.m. May 1, 2008, at Parkway Regional Hospital in Fulton.
Private graveside services were planned at 1 p.m. today in Greenville (Mo.) Cemetery. Hornbeak Funeral Home in Fulton was in charge of local arrangements.
He was born Dec. 7, 1927, in St. Louis, son of the late Harold and Audrey (Browne) Curtis. He married the former Wilma “Billie” Childress Oct. 2, 1948. She preceded him in death. He had been an electrician and small business owner in Fulton and had also worked at the former Stanley Jones Corp. in South Fulton.
After his retirement, he lived in Poplar Bluff, Mo., White House and South Fulton.
Survivors include his daughter and son-in-law, Jan and Jay Johnson of Visalia, Calif.; two sons and daughters-in-law, Chuck and Kim Curtis of South Fulton and Drew and Becky Curtis of White House; another daughter-in-law, Tammy Curtis of Poplar Bluff; seven grandchildren, Brad Johnson, Adam Johnson, Casey Curtis, Jessica Curtis, Sam Curtis, Mollie Curtis and Corey Curtis; and two great-grandsons, Curtis James “CJ” Johnson and Evan Johnson.
He was also preceded in death by his son, Scott Curtis.
