First State Bank is having a lemonade stand fundraiser Friday from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. on the corner of Reelfoot Avenue and South First Street. All proceeds will benefit Walk of Hope. A cup of fresh-squeezed lemonade will sell for $1.
Second Baptist Church’s Hometown Walk of Hope team will hold a yard sale Saturday from 7 a.m. until noon at 1705 Meadowlark Drive in the Pleasant Valley area of Union City. Children’s clothing, toys, a Ping-Pong table, Mother’s Day baskets and household items are among the items for sale.
Proceeds will benefit Hometown Walk of Hope.
Team Cathy will hold a yard sale and offer sack lunches Saturday beginning at 7 a.m. at the former Reelfoot Packing Co. parking lot on West Reelfoot Avenue in Union City. Organizers ask for no “early birds.”
A wide variety of yard sale items will be available.
The sack lunches will include a hamburger, chips, cookies and drink for $5.
Team Cathy is also selling fully cooked Boston butts for $20. Tickets are available from Jennie Kirk at 885-4934 or (731) 446-3138. A fee of $20 is due when the ticket is purchased. Funds will go to Obion County Hometown Walk of Hope.
Pick-up date will be May 23 from 2-6 p.m. at Union City Fire Station No. 2 behind Union City Elementary School on Miles Avenue.

A Fun and Field Day is set for Saturday from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. at the Doctors Clinic on East Reelfoot Avenue in Union City as a Walk of Hope fund raiser.
The M*A*S*H unit challenge will include a one-person wheelchair race for an entry fee of $5 per person and a tug-of-war for an entry fee of $10 per team at about 12:30 p.m. Winners will receive a cash prize for their Walk of Hope team.
Activities for all ages will also include hot dog sales, a cake walk and children’s games of football throw, baseball throw, sidewalk chalk, fishing for ducks, balloon toss, egg race and much more.
If it rains, the event will be rescheduled for May 17.
Plus, the Doctors Clinic’s Walk of Hope team is selling tickets for an opportunity to win a gas grill. Tickets are $2 for one or $5 for three. They are available at the clinic’s front desk.
Tickets are also available at the Doctors Clinic’s front desk or from employees for opportunities to win a Mother’s Day basket and a Father’s Day basket. Tickets for each drawing are available for $2 for one or $5 for three, with all proceeds to go to Walk of Hope.
The Mother’s Day basket includes items donated by several local businesses, including meals and food items, gift certificates, salon services, jewelry, flowers, an oil change, a portrait session, movie passes and assorted merchandise.
The Coca-Cola Hometown Walk of Hope team will be taking orders for 20-ounce drinks through May 7. Call 885-5140 for more information during the day or call 885-8561 evenings.
The pick-up date will be May 10. Flavors available will include Coke Classic, Diet Coke, Caffeine-free Diet Coke, Coca-Cola Zero, Sprite, Mello Yello, Vault, Dr. Pepper, Diet Dr. Pepper and Sunkist, plus DASANI water flavors.
The team will also be taking orders for barbecue ribs to be picked up at the Coke plant between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. on May 10. Cost is $15 per slab. Call 885-5140 or 885-8561 after 5 p.m. to place orders.
Team Taylor will be selling Boston butts in time for Mother’s Day for $25. Orders must be pre-paid by Friday. Call 536-4580 for more information. The pickup date and location will be May 10 at Troy Church of Christ. Funds raised will go to Obion County Hometown Walk of Hope.
