Ruth Elisabeth (Maddox) Luker, 89, of Woodland Mills died April 28, 2008, at Union City Manor Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
Services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday at White-Ranson Funeral Home, with the Rev. Rick Burton officiating. Burial will follow in Obion County Memorial Gardens.
Friends may call 5-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be George Burns, Roberts Burns, Danny Isbell, Larry Gray and Paul Robertson.
She was born Feb. 9, 1919, in Bald Knob, Ark., daughter of the late Willie Carmel and Emma Lou (Heathcock) Maddox. She married Merville Luker Dec. 27, 1935. He died Aug. 1, 1981. She had worked for the Hollie Carburetor plant and was a member of Woodland Mills First Baptist Church.
She is survived by five daughters, Joan Courter and Elizabeth Stansberry, both of Puryear, Darlene Heyer of Aniston, Ark., Marlene Hilsman of Crystal River, Fla., and Donna Tabor of Weeki Wachee, Fla.; her son, William Luker of St. Petersburg, Fla.; 22 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Velma Castleman of Houston and Christine Barclay of Fulton.
She was also preceded in death by her son, James Doyle Luker; three sisters, Alberta Davis, Lorene Robertson and Mozelle Loveall; and her brother, Elvis Carmel Maddox.
