Jewell Opaline “Penny” (Robbins) Bright, 90, of Troy died April 30, 2008, at Obion County Nursing Home.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Troy First United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Judd Mowery officiating. Burial will follow at Terrace Hill Cemetery near Troy. White & Mahon Funeral Home will be in charge of arrangements.
Friends may call 10-11 a.m. Thursday at the church.
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
She was born March 11, 1918, in New Albany, Miss., daughter of the late Isaac and Lillie Pearl (Todd) Robbins. She married Charlie Bright Dec. 24, 1938. He died July 6, 1989. She was a member of Troy First United Methodist Church.
She is survived by her daughter, Sylvia “Stoogie” Dillon of Troy; her son and daughter-in-law, Buddy and Doris Bright of Troy; two granddaughters and the spouse of one, Debbie and Buddy Cardwell and Sherry Speed, all of South Fulton; two grandsons and the spouse of one, Brandon Dillon of Union City and John and Amy Bright of Troy; and five great-grandchildren and the spouse of one, Colt and Ilva Cardwell, Justin Speed, Mandy Speed, Will Bright and Anna Bright.
She was also preceded in death by her great-grandson, David Bright; four sisters and three brothers.
