Bluegrass featured

The first-ever Dyersburg-Dyer County Old Time Bluegrass Festival, presented by the Jackson Area Plectral Society, will be held May 16-17 at the Dyer County Fairgrounds in Dyersburg.
The gates will open at 5 p.m. May 16 and 9 a.m. May 17, with Saturday stage performances to begin at 10 and a free concert Saturday night to start at 7. Admission is free but those attending are asked to bring their lawn chairs.
Grand Ol’ Opry star Mike Snider, a musician and comedian, will be featured. Performers will also include Cane Ridge, Cara-Anne and the Minstrels, Cypress Creek, Front Porch Pickers, Hee Haw Honeys, Jargon, Possum River, River Bottom Gang, River Road, Southern Streamline and Sweetwater.
Also included will be arts and crafts, shade tree pickin’ and antique tractors and cars. RV hookups will be available.
