Holy Week luncheons planned
The Obion County Ministerial Association’s annual Holy Week luncheons will begin Monday and continue through March 21 at First Christian Church, located at 603 South Second St. in Union City.
The luncheons will be in the church fellowship hall and will be served at 11:45 a.m. each day.
There is no charge for the meal, but a free will offering will be received to help the sponsoring church with the cost of the meals.
The Rev. Paul Sternisha, the host pastor, will also be the speaker for the brief devotional March 21. These devotionals will begin at 12:10 each day and the service will be concluded by 12:45 p.m.
Monday’s speaker will be the Rev. Tommy Hall, pastor of Union City First Assembly of God. On Tuesday, the Rev. Kenny Locke of Pleasant Valley and Shady Grove United Methodist churches will speak.
The March 19 speaker will be the Rev. Mel Jacobs of Union City First Church of God.
Dr. Matthew Wohlfarth, pastor of Union City First Baptist Church, will be the March 20 speaker.
The community is invited to attend these special Holy Week observances, a spokesman said.
