Completed arrangements are being announced for Evelyn (Powell) Mosley Pewitt, 99, of South Fulton. She died 10:45 p.m. Feb. 27, 2008, at Parkway Regional Hospital in Fulton.
Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Cayce (Ky.) United Methodist Church Cemetery. The Rev. H.B. Fields and Eddie Cassetty will officiate.
The family will receive friends at Dilday Funeral Home in Union City 5-8 p.m. today and from 8-10:30 a.m. Saturday.
Pallbearers will be Johnny Powell, Eddie Joe Greer, Greg Greer, Mark Mosley, Joey Britt, Danny Kimbel and Tom Powell.
Honorary pallbearers will be Mike Britt, James Craddock, Robert Perry, Dan Weatherspoon, Howard Milam, Louis Browder, Wilson Fowler, George E. Bondurant, Bruce Grooms and Brian Grooms.
She was born Aug. 11, 1908, in Fulton County, Ky., daughter of the late Robert C. and Lillian (Mayfield) Powell. She married E.C. Mosley in 1927. He died Sept. 15, 1967. She later married Harvey M. Pewitt Sept. 4, 1969. He died Jan. 8, 1990.
She was a member of Palestine United Methodist Church, where she served as treasurer for the United Methodist Women for a number of years and also held other offices in the organization. She was also a charter member of the Cayce Homemakers Club and had worked at Scott’s Floral Shoppe in Fulton for 10 years. She did volunteer work at Parkway Regional Hospital.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Dot and J.P. Greer of Fulton; six grandchildren and their spouses, Eddie Joe and Collette Greer of South Fulton, Kay and Mike Britt of Wingo, Ky., Mark and Anna Mosley of Union City, Cathy and Danny Kimbel and Donna and Rick Garland, all of Fulton, and Greg Greer of Murray, Ky.; her brother, Charles Powell of South Fulton; her stepson and his wife, Harold and Sylviadeen Pewitt of Fulton; and 12 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by her son, Eddie P. Mosley; her grandson, Jay Pewitt; her sister, Louise Powell Cullom; and three brothers, Robert Powell, Howard Powell and Flynn Powell.
