CRAFT TIME — Each month the Obion County Public Library and the University of Tennessee Obion County 4-H Program team up to host craft workshops for children in grades K-4. These workshops provide students with vital life skills such as independence, self-esteem, how to work well with others and the ability to think creatively. January’s workshop celebrated winter. Youth learned to make edible snowmen, as well as snowman decorations. These decorations will serve as a positive, youthful experience the children will look back on in the years ahead. The recipe for edible snowmen will be used for many years to come. The Valentine workshop is scheduled for Wednesday. Pre-registration is required and interested parents may do so by contacting Michele Barnes at 885-7000. Participants of the January workshop included (front, from left) Emylee Osborne, Keifer Osborne, Alivia Morris, Nicolas Boyd, Jack Logan Jones, Olivia Grace Yates, (middle) Cameron McNeill, Katie Adkins, Carol Anne Clanton, Madelyn Hogan, Ashley Brown, Kera Corum, Nicole Oliver, Ben Clanton, (back) Carly McNeill, Alyee Osborne, Senior High 4-Her Jessica Crackel, Blake Ellis, Drake Brown, Alli Shaw and Junior High 4-Her Marissa Howard.
