James Stanley Butts
James “Jim” Stanley Butts, 48, of Dresden, died Saturday, Feb. 2, 2008. at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital in Jackson.
Services were held 11 a.m. Tuesday at Bowlin Funeral Home, with Dr. Don McCulley and Rep. Mark Maddox officiating. Burial was in Sunset Cemetery in Dresden.
Kerry Adams, Keith Hopper, Keith Kemp, Steve Dyer, John Hopper, Daryel Watkins, Ronald Rogers, Scotty Brewer, David Hensley, Tommy Dilday, Kenny Stoker and Mike Riggs served as pallbearers.
Butts was born in Union City, son of James B. “Bud” and Betty Sue Johnson Butts of Dresden. He was a self-employed carpenter and a member of Dresden First Baptist church.
Survivors also include one daughter, Britne Bone of Dresden; one son, James Christopher Butts of Dresden; one sister, Dana (Steve) Workman of Atlanta, Ga.; one niece, Nikki Green of Atlanta, Ga.; two nephews, Ben Workman and Cliff Workman, both of Atlanta, Ga.; and one granddaughter, Isabella Bone of Dresden.
