TBI makes drug bust in Union County

A three-month narcotics investigation in Union County in East Tennessee has resulted in the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation’s seizure of drugs, cash, vehicles and farm equipment.
The TBI executed a search warrant on a residence and farm after a three-month narcotics investigation conducted by the Drug Investigation Division in Union County on Tuesday.
The Union County Sheriff’s Department, 8th Judicial District Drug Task Force, 9th Judicial District Drug Task Force, Tennessee Highway Patrol and Alcoholic Beverage Commission assisted in the search and investigation.
The search resulted in the seizure of about 62 pounds of marijuana; 141 firearms; $784,584 in cash; 32 quarts of untaxed liquor; a number of motor vehicles; trailers; and farm equipment, the TBI reported in a press release.
The search is part of a continuing investigation that will result in criminal charges at a later date. The names of suspects and the exact location of the search are not being released at this time due to the ongoing investigation, according to the TBI.
