Completed arrangements are being announced for Dorothy A. (Pollard) Salyards, 79, of Union City. She died Jan. 29, 2008, at Baptist Memorial Hospital-Union City.
Services will be 11 a.m. Thursday at White-Ranson Funeral Home, with the Rev. James Kinsey and Larry Hitesman officiating. Burial will follow in Obion County Memorial Gardens.
Friends may call at the funeral home 5-8 this evening.
Pallbearers will be Matthew Cissell, Cory Hartley, Allen Cissell, David Worley, Jerry Webster and Dale Reasons.
She was born Feb. 14, 1928, in Weakley County, daughter of the late Thurmond and Annie Mae (Richmond) Pollard. She married Henry Austin Salyards Sept. 13, 1979. He died Sept. 28, 2005.
She had been an employee of the former Biltmore Restaurant in Union City and was a member of Sunswept Baptist Church.
Survivors include two daughters and her son-in-law, Lynda and Jim Noles of Paducah, Ky., and Paula Cissell of Springfield, Va.; two sons and daughters-in-law, Gary and Alicia Hurt of Troy and Bill and Janie Hurt of Carthage, Texas; seven grandchildren, Matthew Cissell of Springfield, Lisa Deming of Marion, Ill., Cory Hartley of the Shawtown community, Bill Hurt of Wickliffe, Ky., Kevin Hurt of Missouri, Debbie Bickerstaff of Paducah and Tim Hurt of Carthage; two great-grandchildren, Kadyn Hartley and Gage Austin Hartley, both of Shawtown; two sisters, Virginia Dill of Brentwood and Ella Worley of Union City; her brother, James Pollard of Rives; and several nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by her granddaughter, Molly Cissell.
