June Oliver Thompson
June Oliver Thompson, 81, of Martin, died Wednesday, Jan. 23, 2008, at Volunteer Community Hospital.
Services were held 1 p.m. Friday at Murphy Funeral Home, with the Rev. Houston Patrtick officiating. Burial was in East Side Cemetery.
Joey Guest, Brad Thompson, Chris Laney, Mike Smothers, Johnny Vincent, Roger Donaldson and Bo Guest served as pallbearers.
Mrs. Thompson was born Dec. 9, 1926, in Martin, daughter of the late Jesse N. and Corrine Manley Oliver. She was the widow of Herbert Thompson. She was a homemaker, a graduate of Martin High School, managed the Beaumont Apartments for many years and was a member of Broadway Baptist Church.
Survivors include one son, Mike G. Thompson of Martin; one sister, Jean Vincent of Martini; four grandchildren, Joey Guest and Christle McKee, both of Martin, Brad Thompson of Kenton and Michael Thompson of Clinton, Maine; and seven great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Marsha Thompson; three sisters, Cyril Bearden, Dorris Mooring and Barbara Long; and a great-grandson, Jonathan Parker Thompson.
