Master Your Body exercise classes will be offered again starting in March to anyone interested.
Benita Giffin, University of Tennessee/Obion County Family and Consumer Science agent and certified Master Your Body trainer, will teach this award-winning program in eight weeks of 16 sessions at the Obion County Public Library conference room at 1221 East Reelfoot Ave. in Union City.
Tone your body without using equipment in this innovative approach to good health. Master Your Body is fun and provides safe strength and balance training using body weight exercises. Five stations and 10 exercises will use each participant’s body, the floor and gravity as resistance.
Those taking part will feel body changes in 24 hours. Participants report losing two inches in the waist.
For more information, visit the Master Your Body Web site at http://fcs.tennessee.edu/masteryourbody.
Classes require no special clothes; however, walking tennis shoes are best suited for the class. MYB allows participants to progress at their own pace and to enjoy the exercises in a small space. Students will receive an MYB manual the first day of class. The Master Your Body program and manual is copyrighted. Only certified teachers may offer MYB classes.
Classes will be held 3:45-4:15 p.m. and will begin on time.
Master Your Body dates will be March 11, 12, 18, 20, 24, 26, April 8, 10, 14, 15, 21, 23, 28, 30 and May 5 and 7.
The cost of the 16 sessions is $48 and the fee is non-refundable. Make checks payable to UT and present them at the UT/Obion County Extension office from 8 a.m.-noon and 1-5 p.m. weekdays or mail them to UT Extension Office, 302 South Third St., Union City, TN 38261. For more information, call Benita Giffin at 885-3742 or leave a voice mail. Payment will reserve a space and the class maximum is 18 participants.
