Morris C. Doss, 79, of Union City, died 8 a.m. Jan. 26, 2008, at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital.
Services were 3 p.m. Sunday at Dilday Funeral Home in Union City, with the Rev. Eddie Mallonee officiating. Burial followed in Obion County Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers were Scot Reid, Jamie Matheny, Ricky Wilson, David Hamilton, Brady Boucher and Johnny Nanney.
Honorary pallbearers were Trent Cary, Jimmy Williams, Jerry Williams and Don Isbell.
The family requests that memorials be made to Union City Second Baptist Church, 831 North Everett Blvd., Union City, TN 38261.
He was born Feb. 5, 1928, in Obion County, son of the late Shellie Tillman and Florence (Vernon) Doss. He married the former Betty Phillips June 6, 1958. She survives. He was a retired electrical foreman for Gibson Electric Membership Corp. and was a U.S. Army veteran who served in Germany during the Korean War. He was a member of Union City Second Baptist Church and had been a deacon.
He is also survived by two daughters and his son-in-law, Marcy and Scot Reid and Sheryl Rapp, all of Union City; his sister, Frances Poland of Kenton; his twin brother, Horace Doss of Trimble; and two granddaughters and the spouse of one, Lindsey and Jamie Matheny and Alex Rapp, all of Union City.
He was also preceded in death by his brother, Elwood Doss Sr.
