A Kentucky truck driver has been charged in connection with the recent thefts of four trailers from Union City and Troy, with three of those trailers now recovered.
Mark Mannon, 44, of Paducah, Ky., was arrested Tuesday after turning himself in to local authorities and was charged with four counts of theft over $1,000, according to Union City Police Department investigator Chris Cummings.
The charges stem from the thefts of trailers recently from Troy First Baptist Church, Fab South in Troy, McCloud Electric in Union City and Lawns & More in Union City. Cummings said three of the trailers — those from Troy FBC, Fab South and McCloud Electric — have been recovered. The trailer from Lawns & More has not been recovered but Mannon reportedly has confessed to the theft, resulting in the charge.
The case remains under investigation and additional charges could be pending in other counties in northwest Tennessee and in several surrounding states. The Kentucky State Police is continuing to recover trailers, according to Cummings.
