NEW SAACS OFFICERS
NEW SAACS OFFICERS –The University of Tennessee at Martin chapter of the Student Affiliates of the American Chemical Society (SAACS) recently elected officers for the calendar year 2008. Officers are, left to right, front row, secretary Kayla A. Poindexter of Murfreesboro, vice president Christy R. Lowe of McKenzie, president Robert H. Mitchell of Ripley, treasurer Tiffany A. Brewer of Greenbrier; standing, members of the executive committee, Michael Johnson of Dickson, Kiran G. Vaswani of Franklin, Ashish J. Patel of Columbia and Punam Patel of Martin. Not pictured is executive committee member Alan Farrington-Hess of Jackson. Faculty adviser is Dr. S.K. Airee. The UT Martin SAACS chapter has received Outstanding Chapter award for more years than any other chapter in the nation, has been recognized as Green Chemistry chapter every year since the inception of this designation and won an Innovative Activities Grant for 2007-08 year.
