Dresden Duplicate Bridge Club convened Wednesday, Jan. 16, with 20 players ready for the match of the afternoon, with 27 pre-dealt hands of bridge containing 13 cards in each. After sorting the cards you and your partner and the opposition start bidding. The object is to bid the best contract. The challenge has begun.
Bowls of nuts and Wasabi nuts along with hot pigs in a blanket adorned the table. We also had Josies to eat (delicious chili cheese canapés). A cheese log, blocks of cheese with hot jalapeno corn bread and chocolate truffle bars completed the table of goodies.
Winners were Jack Bogue and Freddye Oliver in first place, Roberta Meyer and Mary Jane Thornton in second, and Joni Martin, Ruthie Jenkins, Peg Mayo and Jo Glasgow in third and fourth place.
Josies
8 ounces sharp Cheddar cheese, grated
1 cup mayonnaise
1 (4 ounce) can chopped green chilies
Mix and spread on sourdough bagels or French bread slices.
Freeze on cookie sheet then store in freezer bags in freezer. Take out as needed. Bake at 350 degrees for 8 minutes.
