Martha Taylor Falwell Powell, 94, of Martin, died Friday, Jan. 18, 2008, at Martin Health Care.
Services were held 11 a.m. Monday at First Baptist Church in Martin, with the Rev. David Brown officiating. Burial was in East Side Cemetery. Murphy Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
Brad Leeper, William Hawkins, Clyde Taylor, Bob Taylor, Claude Callicott, Michael Sloan and John Swearingen served as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers were Chris Kelly and Don Ellison.
Mrs. Powell was born Sept. 22, 1913, in Greenfield, daughter of the late John Vance and Louise Akins Taylor. She was the widow of Frank Falwell and C. M. Powell, a graduate of Martin High School, a retired bookkeeper and a member of First Baptist Church in Martin.
Survivors include one sister, Dorothy (Dottie) Covington of Martin.
She was also preceded in death by one brother, Travis Taylor; and two sisters, Mary Mikel and Montez Swearingen Smith
