Joyce Damron Wittenberg
Joyce Damron Wittenberg, 85, of Martin, died Friday, Jan. 18, 2008, at VanAyer Manor Nursing Home.
Graveside services were held 2 p.m. Sunday at East Side Cemetery in Martin. Murphy Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Fred Hunt, Jerry Moon, David Harrison and Richard Boring served as pallbearers.
Mrs. Wittenberg was born Nov. 18, 1922, in Hickman, Ky., daughter of the late Roy and Annie Hargrove Ballow. She was the widow of John Wittenberg, formerly owned and operated Joyce’s Beauty Shop and was a member of First United Methodist Church of Martin.
Survivors include one daughter, Martha Jo Damron of Martin; one brother, Thomas “Buddy” Ballew of Paducah, Ky.; two grandsons, Perry Bowlin of Martin and T. J. Damron of Dresden; and two great-grandchildren, Ryan Damron and Rachel Kathryn Bowlin.
She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Kathy Damron; and a sister, Ann Ballow.
