wcp 1-22-08
Softball players from first to 12th grade will have a chance to brush up on their skills and hear tips from successful college players next month when the Dyersburg State Community College Lady Eagle softball team hosts its annual camp.
The popular camp, which often draws participants from Arkansas and Missouri, as well as several counties in Tennessee, is being held from 8 a.m.-3 p.m., Feb. 23, in the E.H. Lannom Jr. Gymnasium. The cost for the camp is $60 and includes lunch. Registration begins at 7:30 a.m.
During the camp, DSCC’s players and coaches share their passion for the game and help participants improve their fundamental skills, mental concentration, attitude and conditioning.
Participants should wear a light jacket or sweats and gym or tennis shoes, along with cleats for outdoor play if possible. They should bring their own gloves and also may bring helmets and bats.
For more information, call Coach Randy Hulme at (731) 286-3259 or (731) 286-3260 or email him at hulme@dscc.edu. To register online, fill out the form available at http://www.dscc.edu/athletics/Softball/registrationcamp.htm.
