Palmersville man found unresponsive
A Palmersville man was found unresponsive in a home on Woodland Street in Martin early Tuesday morning. According to an incident report, the Martin Police Department received a call to the residence around 6:55 a.m. on Tuesday.
Officers with the department found Matthew Brent Melton lying on the couch and the report cites he was unresponsive.
Attempts to resuscitate Melton by the Martin Fire Department, Weakley County EMS and Jack Glisson proved unsuccessful.
A witness at the scene claimed the last time Melton was seen conscious was around 11 p.m. Monday. Melton, 37, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Martin Police Chief David Moore said no signs of trauma existed in this case. An autopsy will be performed to determine the cause and manner of death.
Arrangements were not available at press time.
