Third Review Club meets
The Third Review Club met recently in the home of Hazel Williams.
President Mary Lois Owens called the meeting to order. Joyce Stephens read “New Year’s Toast” by Joanna Fuchs.
Secretary Mary Dunavant read the minutes of the December meeting. She called the roll by giving each member a word which had to do with home remedies.
Ruth Gorman gave the Sunshine Report.
Vice president Mary Ellen Stephens announced the Feb. 8 meeting will be in the home of Ms. Gorman, with Hazel Polk providing the program.
Mrs. Dunavant gave the program on “Home Remedies” with all members participating by using the words which were assigned during roll call. Remedies from using salt for a sore throat to treating warts with bleach water were suggested. Letters to syndicated columnist Dr. Peter H. Gott were enjoyed by all, as were his newsletters.
Mrs. Williams served German chocolate cake, pound cake, ice cream, cheese ball, crackers and nuts, along with coffee and spiced tea.
