MARKER REDEDICATED — Members of Reelfoot Chapter Daughters of the American Revolution were recently invited by the Hermitage Chapter of Memphis to the DeSoto Landing Monument Rededication. Hermitage Chapter regent Margaret Henry welcomed the group. Judy Chaffin, regent of the Tennessee DAR, offered greetings to the attendees from the state society. Terry Nelson, treasurer for the Hermitage Chapter, introduced Ed Williams, Shelby County historian, who told the significance of the historical marker. It was first dedicated in 1919 in the park overlooking the Mississippi River.
