Multiple charges — including drug-related offenses — were levied against an Indiana man following a traffic stop early Monday in Fulton.
Bruce L. White, 35, of 723 East Alpine Trail, Bloomington, Ind., was charged with operating a motor vehicle under the influence of drugs/alcohol, operating on a suspended operator’s license, speeding, possession of marijuana, first-offense possession of a controlled substance (cocaine), first-offense possession of drug paraphernalia and receiving stolen property over $300, according to a Fulton Police Department press release.
He was processed at the Fulton Police Department and is currently being held in the Fulton County (Ky.) Detention Center.
White was arrested after Fulton police responded about 12:40 a.m. Monday to a complaint of a possible drunk driver entering the Fulton city limits. Officers reported they observed a gray Chevrolet Silverado pickup entering the city at a high rate of speed. Upon stopping the vehicle in the area of Vine Street and Martin Luther King Jr. Drive, officers discovered that the driver, identified as White, was driving on a suspended license.
A search of the vehicle resulted in officers discovering marijuana, cocaine and drug paraphernalia, police reported. In addition, they discovered the vehicle had been reported stolen from Indiana.
White had $1,090 in his possession and told officers that his intention was to purchase drugs, according to the press release.
