Nell (Reed) Brown, 77, of Obion died 4 p.m. Jan. 12, 2008, at Regional Medical Center in Memphis.
Services will be 7 p.m. Tuesday at Blessed Hope Baptist Church in Troy.
Graveside services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at Rose Hill Cemetery in Obion.
Mrs. Brown’s son, Dr. Clark Brown, and the Rev. Terry Council will officiate.
The family will receive friends 1-7 p.m. Tuesday at the church.
Pallbearers will be Ralph Norman, Gary Crawford, B.J. Phillips, William Stegall, Phillip Reed and Steve Wills. Honorary pallbearers will be her grandsons.
The family requests that memorials be made to Blessed Hope Baptist Church aftercare program, P.O. Box 128, Troy, TN 38260.
Dilday Funeral Home in Union City is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Brown was born Feb. 1, 1930, in Hornbeak, daughter of the late James Elker and Harriet (Montgomery) Reed. She was the widow of Andrew Brown Jr., whom she married April 26, 1947. He died May 28, 1993.
She was a retired employee of the former Troy Manufacturing Co., where she had been a seamstress and inspector, and was a member of Blessed Hope Baptist Church in Troy.
Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Cynthia and Ralph Norman of Troy; two sons and daughters-in-law, Dr. Clark Anthony and Millie Brown of Burns and Chris and Jennifer Brown of Lexington, Ky.; her brother, Grant Reed of Samburg; six grandchildren and their spouses, Dean and Heather Norman of Obion, Dawn and Gary Crawford of Troy, Chad and Holly Brown of Louisville, Ky., Todd Brown of Burns, Andy and Kim Brown of Lexington, Ky., and Amanda and Alan Coulter of Columbus, Ohio; and nine great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Vester Reed and Floyd Reed; and two sisters, Rose Butler and Madie Reed, who died as an infant.
