Elvis Ray Stewart Sr., 63, of Troy died Jan. 12, 2008, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Memphis.
Services were to be 11 a.m. today at White-Ranson Funeral Home, with the Rev. Curtis Rice officiating. Burial was to follow in Pleasant Hill Cemetery near Rives.
Pallbearers were to be his nephews and great nephews and Tony Daniel and Tim Walker.
He was born Aug. 4, 1944, in Humphreys County, son of the late Robert Clayton “R.C.” and Mary (Meredith) Stewart. He married the former Ellen Claire Spicer March 14, 1969. She survives. He was a retired employee of Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co., where he worked for 30 years, and was a Baptist.
Survivors also include two daughters, Debra Glidewell of Union City and Tammy Reynolds Spicer of Memphis; his son, Elvis Stewart Jr. of Jackson; five grandchildren, Porter Glidewell of Norfolk, Va., Justin Spicer of Memphis, Kyle Bluehorse of Troy, Jacob Van Cleave of Union City and Debra Grace Stewart of Jackson; two great-grandchildren, Ethan Spicer and Evan Spicer, both of Memphis; and three sisters, Jean Ursery of Rives, Emma Victory of Union City and Edith Edwards of Woodland Mills.
He was also preceded in death by his sister, Marie Arnold; and two brothers, Clyde Stewart and Willie Hooper.
