A traffic stop early Friday in Fulton resulted in the arrests of two Memphis residents on various charges, including marijuana possession.
Lois A. Owens, 34, of 3943 West Metropolitan Circle, No. 4, Memphis, was arrested on charges of operating on a suspended/revoked operator’s license, possession of marijuana and first-offense failure of non-owner to maintain required insurance; and Robert L. Walker, 23, of 3117 Christine Road, Memphis, was arrested on charges of possession of marijuana and first-degree promoting contraband, according to a press release from the Fulton Police Department.
Both were processed by police and taken to the Fulton County (Ky.) Detention Center.
Their arrests occurred after Fulton police officers initiated a traffic stop about 4:44 a.m. Friday on West Third Street in Fulton. Officers reported they observed a vehicle being operated without illuminated license plates and, upon questioning the driver, discovered she had a revoked operator’s license.
Upon searching, officers located suspected marijuana in the driver’s coat pocket and additional marijuana in the form of a blunt lying where she was sitting in the vehicle. Also during the search, related to the driver’s arrest, additional marijuana was discovered hidden in some correctional discharge papers lying in the passenger seat. The passenger seated beside the papers was arrested and, during a search at the jail, an additional 12 grams of marijuana was discovered in his possession, according to the press release.
